Susquehanna Township-based Arooga's Grille House & Sports Bar has received its liquor license for a ninth location, which will be in downtown Shippensburg.

Gary Huether Jr., president of Arooga's Management LLC, said via email that the restaurant/sports bar hopes to open in "late spring 2014."

Arooga's purchased The Ship Wreck Pub & Inn at 105 W. King St. Extensive renovations are ongoing to revamp the space for a 250-seat restaurant.

Huether said the newest Arooga's will have more than 100 HDTVs "showing every sporting event out there," along with 50 domestic and craft beers on draft and chicken wings with more than 40 wing sauces.

Arooga's will use its Facebook page and Twitter account to update progress throughout construction, Huether said.

Known for its wings, the restaurant also will have a certified gluten-free menu, which is currently being rolled out at all establishments.

The Dauphin County company still has eyes on the Lancaster and Allentown/Bethlehem markets, Huether has said, as the chain hopes to expand its concept beyond Central Pennsylvania.

Arooga's opened in Derry Township late last year
